Crosscorn (Pty) Ltd is a reputable company which was established in 2013 as a seed distributor, and has since evolved into Botswana’s only producer of seeds, supplying farmers countrywide. The company accounts for over half the market share of maize seeds produced and sold in Botswana, and we produce and sell half of the sorghum seeds, cowpea seeds and animal fodder seeds in the country. Crosscorn partners with Quality Seeds from South Africa, and we are producing under license selected varieties of Maize.

At Crosscorn we strongly believe that the quality of the seeds plays a pivotal role in determining the production output, and the seeds need to be able to withstand today’s unfavourable weather conditions. In 2019 Crosscorn launched their new hybrid maize seeds (a total of 6 seed varieties), which are mostly drought and disease tolerant with good yields. These hybrid seeds are produced locally by local farmers and under local conditions, and are quality assured.

In a conference under the theme “Pioneering hybrid maize seed production in Botswana”, Crosscorn was applauded in their outstanding service to Botswana.
